Driving Schools
in Currie
Choosing the right driving school in Currie makes a real difference to how quickly you pass and how much you enjoy learning. Here is what to look for — and why Reliant Driver Training stands out.
Currie is home to one of Edinburgh's three DVSA test centres, making it a key location for learners in west Edinburgh and the Pentland Hills area. The Currie test routes include the Water of Leith corridor, the A70 Lanark Road, and the Edinburgh City Bypass — our instructors know every metre.
How to Choose a Driving School in Currie
Not all driving schools are equal. Here are the six things every learner in Currie should check before committing to a school.
DVSA Accreditation
Every instructor at a reputable driving school must hold a current DVSA ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) registration. Always verify this before booking.
Pass Rate Transparency
Ask any driving school in Currie for their first-time pass rate. Reputable schools are proud to share this. National average is around 47% — look for schools above this.
Instructor Matching
The best schools match you to an instructor based on your location, availability, and learning style — not just whoever is free next.
Clear Pricing
Avoid schools with hidden fees, mandatory block bookings, or unclear cancellation policies. Reliant offers transparent pricing with no lock-in.
Lesson Quality
Look for schools that use structured lesson plans, provide progress feedback, and adapt their teaching to your individual needs.
Local Knowledge
An instructor who knows the roads and test routes in Currie gives you a significant advantage on test day.
